About Us
Welcome to Inch by Inch Willows and More, LLC.
I am thankful you are here and I want to tell you a little about this little willow grower.

I started growing willow in May 2019 and in the ground I put 50 willow cuttings - 5 each of 10 varieties. Some were for florists - curly willow and pussy willow; some were for conservation purposes, and some were for weaving baskets. I didn't know anything about growing plants; I didn't know anything about the floral industry or the art of basket weaving. I just wanted to put something on my 1 acre of acidic clay and see what would happen. Over the years, after talking and meeting with others on a similar journey, I decided to focus on basketry willow. I have been building the willow field slowly but surely, (Inch by inch) making plenty of mistakes, but the journey has been exhilarating. I am thankful for all the willow enthusiasts I have met along the way and I am happy to share any and all of my experiences with anyone who asks.
Before I started growing willow, I homeschooled my three children over a period of 16 years. Before having children I was a military police officer and jumped from airplanes the whole time I served our great nation. I have been married for a few decades to a wonderful man.
I still have a ton of learning to do in the areas of growing, sorting, and selling the willow rods that weavers need. I still have to learn how to weave better and how to best use technology to spread the word about the willow I have and the weaving classes for which I bring in instructors to teach.
What I do know how to do very well is listen to people and so, if you are interested in willow, I encourage you to contact me direct. First, send an email introducing yourself and your questions, and eventually, we will talk all about your needs and concerns as it relates to growing or weaving willow. I want to make this a person to person business instead of an impersonal internet transaction.
